Footwear

Stride Orthopaedics takes footwear fitting to an old level…? We pride ourselves in fitting our patients utilizing the Brannock Device for foot size measurement, something that has unfortunately gone by the wayside.

Once our trained fitter understand your foot shape and movement pattern, we will ask targeted questions that will further refine the shoes that we will try on your feet. We will take into account special needs based on your answers, so be as thorough as you can so we can provide you with exactly what you need!

We carry a wide assortment of footwear brands and styles, which are constantly changing based on patient and customer feedback, as well as on extensive research that our Pedorthists and support staff engage in regularly. The shoes you see on the wall have likely been ordered nearly a year ago, working with our suppliers. Every shoe on the wall has 12 -36 pair in the back which come in different size, width (and colour) options.

Specialty Footwear

As Canadian Certified Pedorthists, we are expert in the fit of specialty footwear for the treatment of a wide variety of medical conditions including:

  • Diabetes
  • Arthritis
  • Congenital Deformities
  • Post-Surgical Complications

Footwear Modifications

In some circumstances, modification to footwear to accommodate or treat a condition is required. Our Pedorthists can modify stock or specialty footwear to treat:

  • Leg Length Discrepancy (Sole Lift)
  • Pressure issues and bony deformity (Stretching, panel addition)
  • Amputation (fillers, rockers)
  • Range of motion issues (rockers, buttresses and sole flares)

Custom Made Footwear

Our team can manufacture Custom Made Footwear to address situations when stock footwear, and footwear modifications are inadequate. Keep in mind, custom footwear is a very laborious and time consuming process, where the end result will address your functional needs, but will also look a lot like the shape of your feet. There is a five step process to getting custom footwear, including consultation, quotation, measurements, casting, trial fit (occasionally) and final dispensing.
